Mars  is a sweet, friendly, guy that loves following his foster mom around the house, head scritches , ear rubs and slow, leisurely walks with lots of sniff time and rolls in the grass. He is not a guy that craves canine interaction and basically ignores other dogs unless they need to be told to steer clear of his food bowl or not bug him, then they may get a “rawr rawr” warning! He loves  to do his own thing and take life easy. Mars does not have any behaviour concerns. He is non destructive, housetrained, walks well on a leash and is good in the car. He will vocalize with a little bark or soft howl to let you know if he wants something and that includes asking to be let out to do his business, or out of a crate or a room.  Mars is in good general health, has been neutered and his routine vetting is up to date.  He has a cataract in one eye but sees  just fine. He has ‘selective’ hearing and will often ignore trivial human requests unless he feels like it , but a rattle of a food bowl and there is no doubt he can hear if he wants to! 

Mars would do well in a low activity home with someone that just wants a sweet companion  to spend relaxing quality time with. He likes to be close to his people so a retiree or someone that is home a lot would be ideal. Mars is available for adoption with finalization pending dental.

Healthy, dental needed. No behaviour concerns.

Compatibility with people:
Great, friendly.

Compatibility with dogs:
Tolerant of other dogs  but prefers that they respect his space and will react  if bothered or around food.

Compatibility with cats:
Unknown but suspect indifference.

Requirements:
Calm, quiet lifestyle. Someone home much of the time preferred. Best suited as an only dog.
