About us
French Bulldog Rescue of Ontario is a non profit, foster based rescue helping French Bulldogs and French Bulldog mixes in Ontario, Canada.
Each rescue dog lives in a home and is loved and cared for by our fosters until their forever home is found. We also offer placement assistance where the surrendered dog stays in its current home while a new home is found. We do all reference and home checks for applicants, post on our social media pages and website and assist with calls and meetings. Adoption fee comes to FBRO.
All FBRO dogs are spayed/neutered and health checked before adoption. All potential adopters must fill out an application, have references checked, an in person meeting and a home visit. We do not ship dogs or do same day adoptions. Each dog has an adoption fee, which must be paid prior to the completion of the adoption.
FBRO is entirely funded by donations and fundraising efforts. All money goes toward caring for our dogs and every donation makes a difference to us, as veterinary costs for French Bulldogs can run very high. Our rescue dogs come from owner surrenders, puppy mills, Humane Societies, and local shelters.

The Levi Memorial Fund
Levi was the first French Bulldog to come into FBRO’s care and became the rescue’s beloved ambassador. He was a special boy who lived life on his own terms. Independent, curious and always ready for his next adventure, he loved car rides, walks around Toronto, shopping trips, carrying his favourite cow around and exploring with his people.
Levi faced many health challenges throughout his life, including Cushing’s disease, recurrent urinary tract infections and eye ulcers. His care required daily medication, regular veterinary visits, bloodwork and ongoing attention. Despite it all, Levi continued to enjoy life and was deeply loved in his Forever Foster home.
Sadly, we recently said goodbye to Levi. While our hearts are broken, we want to honour his life and the incredible legacy he leaves behind by helping other dogs who, like Levi, need a little extra care.
The Levi Memorial Fund has been created in his memory to help support FBRO dogs with complex health needs, just as so many of you helped us do for Levi. Donations to the fund will help provide medications, veterinary care, testing and other necessities that allow us to give other dogs the same chance at a happy, loved, and adventurous life.
A donation in Levi’s memory is a way to celebrate his life, honour the special place he holds in FBRO’s history, and help his legacy live on through another French Bulldog.
